Our First Christmas

Our first Christmas as a married couple has now come and gone.  After a last year that was lacking in family and fun the day of, this year was wonderful!!!  I had a few highlights that will always stick out:

Jordan and I went to a house that had Christmas lights dancing to music.  It was a fun experience for me.

We also attended a Lutheran Christmas Eve service and I really enjoyed it.  I've only been to one other Christmas Eve service and don't remember much about it.  I so enjoyed the preserved Christmas hymns.  I still think my all-time favorite is "Away in a Manger"  especially these 2 verses:

I love Thee, Lord Jesus
Look down from the sky
And stay by my cradle,
'Til morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus,
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me I pray

Like always,  I couldn't get through the verses without crying.  When I make the effort to stop and think of our Great God coming as a baby, what would it have been like to experience Him in this way.  But even more, He came so that we could always have Him near us, forever.  I love this, that He came so we could have Him.

Christmas morning was such a good time!!  I was finally vindicated when it comes to presents.  The long standing tradition of me, as the "favorite", always having the most presents ended!!  Mom and Dad gave Jake round about 15 presents.  I had 5. :)  Granted most of his presents were gags but it was halarious all the same!  Jordan gave me a beautiful snowflake necklace that I just love.
Jordan cooked a big Select ribeye slab and it turned out wonderful, only just shy of the primerib a few years ago.

We had our friends Paul and Jess Bartran (sp?) over for dinner and games and we had a wonderful time.  Dad pulled out the Christmas Nerf guns and another epic battle ensued.  It was so fun to create such memories.

So there we have it, a small recap of the first annuall Crocker Christmas!! :)  And now in just a few weeks, the celebration continues as we head to Mexico to meet up with my whole family.  Can't wait!!

Pictures of Christmas to follow.
